Summer Session: Zuihitsu with Kimiko Hahn

KUNDIMAN SUMMER SESSION:
Zuihitsu with Kimiko Hahn

“The Japanese view [zuihitsu] as a distinct genre although its elements are difficult to pin down. There’s no Western equivalent, though some people might wish to categorize it as a prose poem or an essay.” —Kimiko Hahn, interview with BOMB Magazine

This class will explore the poetic genre of zuihitsu, a Japanese hybrid form which uses fragments, juxtapositions, and contradictions to “follow the brush.” Join us for a three-hour summer session over Zoom on Saturday, August 15th, from 2:00 PM–5:00 PM ET! Check out the class page for more information on the class and how to register!
