Kundiman was founded in 2004 and would not exist without the generous mentorship of Cave Canem, a home for Black poetry. We have also had the privilege to work alongside CantoMundo, Indigenous Nations Poets (In-Na-Po), Mizna, and Radius of Arab American Writers (RAWI)—and together, we have transformed the literary arts through our care for BIPOC writers and their readers.
Now, as we celebrate 20 years of Kundiman, we also look toward the readers and writers that our organizations must collectively uplift in the coming years. Let us imagine bolder and juster futures for our literatures.
Like so many of our peer spaces, we are offering a fee-free Retreat in 2024. We would love to continue these efforts and invite you to support us. Funds raised during this campaign will support Kundiman’s programs in 2024 and beyond.
This month, new or upgraded recurring donors can receive limited edition 20th anniversary offerings. Give a recurring donation of $5 a week and receive a limited broadside, or give $10 a month and receive a newly designed Kundiman Radical Love baseball cap.
Thank you for your kindness. We look forward to building with you.
