Poetry Coalition's One Poem Festival: Poetry & Protest Reading

On August 18th at 8:00 PM ET, Kundiman and the founding members of the Poetry Coalition, a network of 25+ poetry organizations from across the United States, present One Poem: A Protest Reading in Support of Black Lives. The mega-reading event will be the Poetry Coalition’s first-ever nationwide reading via live broadcast with closed captioning available. As a Coalition, we believe there are many rooms in the house of protest: tenderness, grief, nurturing, fury, preserving lineages, resistance to daily and systemic violence. In addition to this theme, the reading will also be a poetry reading in defense of Black lives, centered in supporting and defending Black lives, and against state violence specifically toward the Black community. We’ll hear from Jericho Brown, Kwame Dawes, Terisa Siagatonu, Safia Elhillo, Martín Espada, Monica Youn, and more. This event is free to attend. RSVP and learn more about the One Poem Festival here!
