March is here, which means it's time for a month of social impact programming with the Poetry Coalition! During March, Kundiman invites you to participate in a Postcard Project related to the Poetry Coalition's chosen theme, "Where My Dreaming and Loving Live: Poetry & the Body."
Fellows will be writing and mailing postcard poems while meditating on the theme of poetry and the body. Please join us by writing your own postcards and sending them out! We'll be uploading pictures of postcards all month on our social media and our Tumblr. You can tweet us @kundimanforever or email an image of your postcard to communications@kundiman.org. Make sure to use our hashtag #KundiMail, and the Poetry Coalition hashtags #MyDreamingMyLoving and #PoetryCoalition.
The phrase “Where My Dreaming and My Loving Live” is an excerpt from U.S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith’s poem “Flores Woman” from her collection Duende, which won the James Laughlin Award in 2006.
We'll also be holding a free generative writing workshop on self-care and the body on Tuesday, March 13th at the Asian American Arts Alliance––stay tuned for more information.
