For 19 years, Kundiman has nurtured AAPI writers and offered a critical space to foster deep relationships in community. We are so grateful to the 80 donors who have contributed $29,386 so far to host a fee-free Retreat during our 20th anniversary next year.
As the year comes to a close, join us in reducing financial barriers so that more writers have access to this life-changing space. In the words of Seema Yasmin, Kundiman fellow and author of the documentary poetry book, If God Is A Virus, and forthcoming novel, Unbecoming:
"I have a feeling the warmth and kinship of the Kundiman Retreat will fuel me for years to come. I feel honored to be in conversation with such phenomenally talented and generous artists. Thank you for the gifts of confidence, craft, and community.”
“We were nurtured and encouraged by critically-acclaimed writers, we were educated by artists who shared expertise on craft and the writing life. It was a lot to absorb in five days—but on the fifth day I began to write a novel that I was previously too nervous to write.”
Make a gift in the next four days to ease the financial burden for 2024 Retreat applicants. Your contribution to a fee-free Retreat will help Kundiman reach even more AAPI writers in the coming year.
