This summer we're delighted to welcome a new cohort of interns: Jacob Myron Cerdeña, Molly Hayes, Asa Ohira, and Ashley Yoshii.
Jacob Myron Cerdeña (any/all) joins us as the Development Intern. Jacob is a rising senior studying English with a concentration in Creative Writing at Fordham University. He is a writer, avid lover of nature, and Black Sheep Performance Poet. His ultimate goal as a Filipinx-American is to craft mutual leadership in the Asian American and Pacific Islander community as a fulfillment of ancestral, nature-based duty.
Molly Hayes (she/her) join us as Grants and Operations Intern. She’s a rising senior at Fordham University majoring in Integrative Neuroscience with a concentration in Systems and Computation and minors in Physics and English. Her love for the Asian American arts was awakened at a young age through a love of reading and dance. As someone adopted from Nanchang, she is interested in utilizing a literary approach to investigate the position of adoptees within the diaspora and society as a whole.
Asa Ohira (she/her) joins us as Programs Intern. Asa is a senior at Fordham University double majoring in Communication and New Media Digital Design with a minor in Philosophy. Asa is an aspiring writer and hopes to support emerging Asian American writers and uplift the community through collaborative programming. Her work has been published by Girls Cinema Club.
Ashley Yoshii (she/her) is a rising sophomore at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business pursuing a major in marketing. She joins us as Communications Intern and is excited about helping to support the works of fellow Asian American artists. With a passion for social justice and Asian American civil rights, she has been involved with the Japanese American Citizens League’s Northern California Western Nevada Pacific District Civil Rights Committee Newletter and is a member of OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates.
