Power and Objectivity in Nonfiction Writing
with Nay Saysourinho
Nonfiction workshop:
Wednesdays, 7:00–9:30 PM ET
February 9th-March 30th
Open to all writers of color
Whose voices are given more weight in nonfiction and why? In this 8-week course, writers will sharpen their authorial voice and analyze transparency in nonfiction. Students will have the chance to workshop twice and will learn how to submit to publications.
Diasporic Storytelling
with Jordan Alam
Prose Workshop:
Mondays, 5:30 PM–8:00 PM ET
February 21st-April 11th
Open to all writers of color
Explore immigrant narratives through found objects, passed down tales, and written scraps in this 8-week workshop. Students will generate new writing and give feedback with gentleness and curiosity. This course is geared towards fiction and non-fiction writers.
Classes are open to all writers of color. All classes will take place on Zoom and the class times listed are in Eastern Time. There is one scholarship spot available for each class and deadlines are listed on the individual course pages.
