Since 2004, Kundiman has offered spaces for creating art, sustaining connection, and building solidarity. This year, we are thrilled to offer new ways for writers of color to connect virtually, with a new slate of online classes. We hope they will provide you with opportunities to deepen community and nurture your writing practice. Join us for an 8-week workshop or a 3-hour craft class!

Classes are open to either Asian American writers or all writers of color; please check the class details before registering. All online classes will take place on Zoom and class times listed are in Eastern Time. Scholarships are available.

TESTIMONIALS

Kundiman is an incredibly special place. It brings together communities of kind and supportive artists. I knew that coming in and this class did not disappoint. I feel like I gained real technical skill in addition to growing my network of brilliant writers. Kyle and the whole Kundiman team were so organized and made us feel taken care of.

In this moment and every moment, Kundiman is doing work that I think is really important. It really opened up a lot of possibilities for all of us as writers AND as people, too, in addressing these moments, sitting with our emotions and pondering difficult, personal decisions. I can’t wait to attend future Kundiman events.

This was one of the most courageous, vulnerable, powerful, and overall beautiful writing workshops in which I’ve ever had the privilege of participating...Our writing was sharpened as a tool for examining, grieving, healing from, and imagining alternatives to systemic oppression... I am so, so grateful for the community I found here; it was an honor to hear their stories, both of shared experiences and differing perspectives. I hope many more writers of color will have the opportunity to come together in this way.
— Phoebe Low
This was my first workshop with Kundiman. They opened it up to all Poets of Color and I jumped at the chance to study under this organization! The six weeks I spent learning from George Abraham was transformative. He spent time and attention on each and every one of us to help hone our eye and our craft. I’m a better writer, listener and reader coming out of this space and I know I’ll carry that with me in all my work moving forward.
