In honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Kundiman and Wikimedia NYC are hosting a weeklong Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon focusing on Asian American literature. Since 2018, Kundiman and Wikimedia NYC and DC have been partnering up to address the erasure of Asian American writers online. Together with our communities, we have added over 40,000 words on Asian American literature to Wikipedia, a global resource that is predominantly edited by white men. We've taken the opportunity of social distancing to extend our traditional one-day Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon into a weeklong marathon Wiki editing! Join us at any time during the week, and help us reclaim Wikipedia!

There is no experience required, and Wikipedia newbies are encouraged! We'll be holding several online trainings via Zoom throughout the week and have a Slack channel for the week to answer any questions you might have on Wikipedia.
