Beam: A Kundiman Reading

Join us for a night of poetry and prose featuring Chicago-based Kundiman fellows: Feliz Lucia Molina, Suman Chhabra, Helene Achanzar, and Timothy Moore

Feliz Lucia Molina is the author of Undercastle (Magic Helicopter Press), coauthor of The Wes Letters (Outpost19), chapbook Crystal Marys (Scary Topiary Press), and Roulette forthcoming from Make Now Books. Her work has appeared in Jacket2, SF MOMA Blog, Gauss PDF, Fence, Night Papers, among others. She is a recipient of poetry fellowships from The MacDowell Colony and Kundiman, and is an editor for Los Angeles Review of Books. This Fall, she will join the School for Social Work Administration at University of Chicago.

Suman Chhabra is a multigenre writer and cellist. She holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan and an MFA in Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Chhabra is the author of Demons Off, a chapbook through Meekling Press. She is a Kundiman Fellow and her work has been supported by Vermont Studio Center, Ragdale, Poemeleon, Hair Club and Homonym. Chhabra writes for Eye on India, an arts organization, and teaches courses in Reading and Writing at SAIC.

Helene Achanzar is a writer and educator from Chicago. She has earned awards from the Iowa Writers Workshop and Philippine American Writers and Artists. She has written for Steppenwolf Theater Company, Hearst Newspapers, and Vice Media. She is a Kundiman fellow and a John and Renée Grisham fellow at University of Mississippi.

Timothy Moore is a writer, bookseller, and instructor in Chicago. He’s been published in McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, Entropy, the Chicago Reader, and has reviews and interviews in the Chicago Review of Books and Electric Literature. He is a Kundiman fellow.
