At Asian American Arts Alliance town halls, artists and organizationss give one-minute 'pitches' on their work, mixed in with featured readings and presentations.

In honor of National Poetry Month, Kundiman's Amy Meng, Sahar Muradi, and Alison Roh Park will read. AAWW will be showcasing their new crop of fellows.

Amy Meng’s poetry has appeared or is forthcoming from publications including: Indiana Review, The Journal, The Literary Review, Pleiades, Slice Magazine, and the Sycamore Review. She is a Kundiman Fellow and poetry editor at Bodega Magazine. She teaches creative writing at Rutgers University.

Sahar Muradi is a writer and performer born in Afghanistan and raised in the U.S. / is co-editor, with Zohra Saed, of One Story, Thirty Stories: An Anthology of Contemporary Afghan American Literature / is co-founder of the Afghan American Artists and Writers Association / has published in Drunken Boat, dOCUMENTA, phati’tude, Green Mountains Review, elsewhere literary magazine, Bone Bouquet, and The Poetry Project Newsletter / is a Kundiman Poetry Fellow, an AAWW Open City Fellow, and twice recipient of the Himan Brown Creative Writing Award in Poetry / has an MFA in poetry from Brooklyn College, an MPA in international development from NYU, and a BA in creative writing from Hampshire College / directs the poetry programs at City Lore / and believes in the bottom of the rice pot.

Alison Roh Park is a Pushcart nominated poet, writer, and artist from Queens, New York. Alison won the Poetry Society of America's NY Chapbook Fellowship selected by Joy Harjo, Poets and Writers Amy Award, and the Jerome Foundation Travel and Study Grant to rural South Korea and was a Kundiman poetry fellow in 2008. Alison is a founding member of the Good Times Collective of women of color poets writing in the tradition of Lucille Clifton, and has convened multiple cohorts of writing circles in Philadelphia and New York City.
