Jane Wong, Bel Poblador Jason Bayani, Muriel Leung, Dan Lau, and Melissa Sipin read at this annual event, capping off the LitQuake Festival.

Jane Wong holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and is a former U.S. Fulbright Fellow and Kundiman Fellow. Currently, she teaches at the University of Washington Bothell and the Richard Hugo House. Her poems have appeared in ZYZZYVA, The Volta, Salt Hill, and the anthologies Best American Poetry 2015 (Scribner), and The Arcadia Project: North American Postmodern Pastoral (Ahsahta Press). She is the author of OVERPOUR, which is forthcoming in 2016 (Action Books).

Bel Poblador is a Los Angeles born writer who lives and creates in San Francisco. She received her Writing MFA from CalArts and is Managing Editor at TAYO Literary Magazine.

Jason Bayani is the author of the poetry collection Amulet (Write Bloody Publishing 2013). He grew up in the Bay Area and earned his MFA in Poetry at Saint Mary’s College of California. He’s performed on stages across the US and in Europe and is a veteran of the National Poetry Slam scene. He’s a Kundiman fellow, one of the founding members of the Filipino American spoken word troupe, Proletariat Bronze, and the current Program Manager for Kearny Street Workshop.

Muriel Leung earned her MFA in creative writing at Louisiana State University. She is a recipient of a Kundiman fellowship and is a regular contributor to The Blood-Jet Writing Hour poetry podcast. She is also the Poetry Co-Editor for Apogee Journal. Her first book Bone Confetti is forthcoming from Noemi Press in October 2016. This fall she’s headed to USC's PhD program in Creative Writing and Literature.

Dan Lau is a Chinese American poet from Queens, New York. A Kundiman fellow, he is the recipient of scholarships and grants from The Fine Arts Work Center at Provincetown, Queer Cultural Center, and San Francisco Arts Commission. His poems have been published in Generations, Cape Cod Review, Gesture, RHINO, CRATE, and others. He is an MFA candidate at Boise State University.

Melissa Sipin is a writer from Carson, CA. She won Glimmer Train’s Fiction Open and ON-SQU’s Flash Fiction Prize. She co-edited Kuwento: Lost Things, an anthology on Philippine myths (Carayan Press 2014), and her work is in Guernica, Eleven Eleven, and Hyphen Magazine, among others. Cofounder of TAYO Literary Magazine, her fiction has won scholarships/fellowships from Kundiman, VONA/Voices, Sewanee Writers’ Conference, and was shortlisted for the David Wong Fellowship at the University of East Anglia. She is hard at work on a short story collection and novel.
