Readings by Cathy Linh Che (“Split,” 2014), Sally Wen Mao (“Mad Honey Symposium,” 2014), and Jamaal May (“Hum,” 2013). This event is hosted by executive director Carey Salerno and is co-sponsored with Alice James Books, Cave Canem Foundation, and Kundiman.

Matthew Olzmann, winner of the 2011 Kundiman Poetry Prize reads at New York University.

Reading and Conversation: Poetry Fellows Eduardo C. Corral, Matthew Olzmann and Nicole Terez Dutton.

Co-sponsored with the Creative Writing Program at NYU, CantoMundo, Kundiman, and Cave Canem Foundation.

Matthew Olzmann is a graduate of the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College. His poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Kenyon Review, New England Review, Inch, Gulf Coast, Rattle and elsewhere. He’s received fellowships from Kundiman and the Kresge Arts Foundation. Currently, he is a writer-in-residence for the InsideOut Litereary Arts Project and the poetry editor of The Collagist. He is the winner of the Kundiman Poetry Prize, which was founded in 2010 and is an annual book publication prize open to emerging and established poets of Asian American descent. The Prize is a partnership between Kundiman and Alice James Books.

Janine Oshiro holds degrees from Whitworth College (now Whitworth University), Portland State University, and the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop. She is a Kundiman fellow and the recipient of a poetry fellowship from Oregon’s Literary Arts. She lives in Hawaii and teaches at Windward Community College. She is the winner of the inaugural Kundiman Poetry Prize, which was founded in 2010 and is an annual book publication prize open to emerging and established poets of Asian American descent. The Prize is a partnership between Kundiman and Alice James Books.
